TWU Local 575 WEEKLY UPDATE

DFW

This week, the DFW management recognized our Crew Chief Carlos Marti and Fleet Service Clerks Sayed Nasef, Ignatius Nwahiri, Raquel Hargrett, and Rolando Vendrell-Dones for achieving 100% departure performance on Friday’s Right Start flights – An oversized electric wheelchair needed to be loaded onto a Right Start flight last week, the DFW Fleet Service team pulled together to get it done safely, quickly and without damage. The flight, scheduled for 9 a.m. was even off the gate one minute early

 

UNIFORMS

American is announcing that they are starting the process to select a new uniform supplier. American and Twin Hill have mutually agreed not to renew our current uniform contract when it expires.

 

FIRE SUPRESSION LINE

AA has informed the Regional Carriers when the aircraft (E175) is discovered with baggage loaded over the Fire Suppression line, it will be treated as Aircraft Damage. There will be a formal BOI and a call to discuss the failure. Resulting consequences will be determined on a case by case scenario – but they will potentially be harsh. For clarification purpose, it is the bottom line of the parallel lines. There is an updated post on the Local website and Facebook page!

 

RAMP BID

There was a total of six open Crew Chief lines at the end of the bid. The window to submit a request closed on 6/22/17 with a total of two accepting leaving four open lines. Also, hiring will continue throughout the year for Fleet Service Clerks.

 

MANDO (WHITE SLIP)

There is a new slip agreed by the Union. The WHITE SLIP will require the name of the shop stewards, supervisor name and schedulers initials.

TRAINING LESSONS

Under article 18 you have the right to come in and stay after work to complete training (on line lessons included) and be paid straight time for time spent. The training department maintains a log for hours to be approved. Not in compliance can lead to cs’s benefits suspension as is stated on the cs policy.
